Customer Review: The Art of Compromise The standard against which a multiple use product like this is to be measured is NOT whether it is the best performing product at each task, but rather whether it performs well enough to replace two or more items in your bathroom or more importantly in your carry on luggage. As a habitually clean-shaven man, I might seem a poor choice to review such a product, but a fortuitously timed job layoff has allowed me to grow a beard in order to fully test the device. BATTERY: This is the major selling point; I fully charged it when I received it and have been using it off and on over the last two months ON THE VERY FIRST CHARGE, and it is still going strong! There is no other rechargeable battery technology I'm aware of that could even approach, much less match that performance. SHAVER HEAD: As a blade shaver whose weapon of choice is the Gillette Fusion Power Phenom Razor, I have always believed that electric razors are for men who don't really insist on a close shave (or less facetiously for men whose lifestyle requires shaving on-the-go). Nothing about the performance of this trimmer's shaver head has changed my mind, and for shaving the entire face it is clearly inferior to the Braun Series 1 1-150 Men's Shaver I have also been testing. However, in fairness, it was never really intended for this purpose. No man in his right mind would choose such a product unless he was planning to at least experiment with facial hair, and for the purpose of shaving those parts of your face not covered by your beard or mustache, it is quite adequate. DETAIL HEAD: For delicate work, like separating that unibrow into two separate eyebrows, the detail head works fine, though perhaps because of the small size of its face plate, it becomes uncomfortably warm during sustained use. However, as a nose hair or ear hair trimmer, it is clearly inferior to any with rotary heads. TRIMMER HEAD: The main trimmer head comes with far too many attachments IMHO, and I don't say that just because in mine all of the plastic attachments displayed in the box window were duplicated inside. Unless you are planning a career as a traveling beard stylist, a six-position trimmer guide and 3 fixed-length attachment combs is probably going to be more than you will ever need. However, experimentation will be required in order to narrow down your choices. The adjustable trimmer guide provides more choices without switching attachments, but it is susceptible to slipping under pressure, resulting in a closer trim than you intended. For body hair trimming, this device is clearly inferior to the Philips Norelco BG2020 Bodygroom Shaver, Philips Norelco Body Groomer Limited Edition BG2022, and probably to the Philips Norelco BG2030 Professional BodyGrooming System as well, in everything except battery, but unless you are a performer in the adult film industry, it will probably do an adequate job, especially if you have someone who can assist you with the underbrush thinning. Looking at their religion forces you to consider what it is about Christianity that makes it distinctly "Christian", and I found the historic Christian faith to be richer and more intensely beautiful than I had formerly known it to be. This book explains the differences. I have several wonderful Mormon friends and they believe with their whole LIVES that Joseph Smith really was a prophet. They are neither stupid or particularly gullible. I do believe that they are LOST, something Christians should more readily keep in mind. So many books on Mormonism seem to center on efforts to belittle Mormons and their beliefs. This book does neither. It will help you to think of Mormonism as a kind of "spiritual Titanic"...looks like an unsinkable ocean liner...plush, comfortable, but it won't get you to other shore. This book gently reaches out with "rowboat"-style truth. Pay special attention to the portion about "defining terms". The LDS and Christians often share a surface vocabulary but you'll quickly find that certain terms like "grace" and "salvation" mean totally different things to each. Buy this book, in fact, buy two copies. Give one to your public library. I think one of the most powerful uses of this software is to see how different emotional states affect coherence such as anger, compassion, love, anxiety, etc. For most people, it's a very visceral experience to see how states of love and compassion correlate to maximum coherence. Instead, she's friendly, positve, and encouraging, and over time you start to feel as if you're working out with a "friend". It's obvious too that the other "students" in the video are truly enjoying themselves! It took some weeks (months?) for me to be able to get thru the entire tape - it really is quite challenging! But then after several more months, I added hand and leg weights gradually to make the workout even more challenging, especially while doing the low impact format. Misset shows both the high and low impact versions of the exercises, so I don't know why the other reviewer said the tape is dangerous. In fact, one of the students in the video does the whole tape in low impact mode to demonstrate the exercises to us. This is the only exercise video thru the years that I am able to do over and over and over again without getting very bored, thanks to the great music and inspiration from Misset. For years my morning routine was to get up, have coffee, do this video, take a shower and leave for work by 7:45 a.m. feeling super energized and in a great mood that would last throughout the day!
